HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

It's been a while, right?

A lot happening for me over these last few months. The latest first draft of my new book is now in Q's hot little hands; anyone else interested in reading it, feel free to get a copy from her or me.

I've got a few new jobs. I'm poop scooping with Q now, and also I'm an online literacy tutor for kids in California. I've been hired on as a junior editor for Grumpy Dragon publishing (that link to appear on this site soon), and I continue to create and sell art online. I think I've pretty well left my last job, which didn't pay--or at least my boss has stopped sending me projects. I've sent out a few more resumes, still hoping to get a job somewhere as a technical writer.

What else...? I've developed unhealthy levels of addiction to energy drinks and gorey horror flicks, and I'm still not sleeping well (even when I'm off the guarana, yes, I have thought of that--Ironically enough, I think I sleep better when I'm on the guarana).

The latest problems in my life include the fact that the school I applied to for my MLS hasn't received one of my letters of reference, so I might miss spring entrance and have to wait until January 2011. I pick up poop for a living (though except for this fact, I do enjoy the job--sunlight, happy dogs, fresh air, no cubicle). And Mr. Borealis went completely bonkers about the same time I did in early August.

He used to not want kids. I finally got on board with that 100% recently, and then he decided maybe he *does* want kids after all (not immediately, thank God). He used to hate the fact that I didn't have a "real" job and that I worked for free; two weeks ago I went on a mini-vacation to visit him while he was working out of town and he said (mind you, entirely unsolicited, as in total silence at the table until he said this): "I'm jealous of how successful you are. I think you built up a lot of good karma by doing all that charity work over the last year."

Any of you who know Mr. Borealis know that he does not believe in any of the following things: karma, charity, children. WTF, mate? This alien also enjoys cuddling, seeing me in frumpy cloths, and wants to get a cat. It's weird--it's like he suddenly became the guy I fell in love with as a teenager. It's great. It's also freaking me out.

I suspect a brain tumor,
Alula

I think that Mr. Borealis personally has just grown up again and remembered all the reasons that he loves you. He also got the "I need to control her" phase that most men go through. I personally believe that you two have weathered the storm and have come out victorious from the sound of things.
